UPDATE

It has been another great week of learning at Copperfield School! Throughout February, we have been celebrating kindness. Each morning during our Morning Announcements, our Grade 5 announcers kick off the day by sharing an inspiring kindness quote with the entire school. Students have engaged in various activities focused on promoting kindness. To wrap up the month, our Grade 2 students will host the Pink Shirt Day Kindness Assembly on February 26. Additionally, on Thursday, February 27, the administration will read the book Kindness Grows to each grade level. This will also kick off Copperfield School’s Annual Read-A-Thon.

We are excited to announce that our annual Read-A-Thon will take place from March 4 to 15. This two-week event will feature guest readers, literacy games, spirit days, and a variety of reading opportunities and incentives—all designed to inspire a love of reading!

Events:

  • Thursday, February 27 - Kick off with Admin reading to grade groups
  • Monday March 3 - Bring Your Favourite Book
  • Wednesday, March 5 - D.E.A.R (Drop Everything and Read) in AM
  • Friday, March 7 - Bring a flashlight and read in the dark
  • Wednesday, March 12 - D.E.A.R (Drop everything and read) in PM
  • Friday, March 14 - Favourite Character Dress Up OR PJ Day

Thank you for your support!

Copperfield has heart!

WAIVERS

No child is ever denied access to an education in The Calgary Board of Education (CBE) because of an inability to pay. If you cannot afford the fees, there are several ways to qualify for a central fee waiver.

Waiver applications for the current school year are found online through your MyCBE account and are available from the start of the school year until June 30.

More information can be found on the Fee’s and Waivers page.
