UPDATE

We hope you had a restful and wonderful Winter Break making lots of great memories. It was great to welcome students and staff back this week as we finish term one here at Copperfield School. Upon return, we reviewed school routines and with the new year upon us, the students set goals for the remainder of the year.

We are also approaching our report card deadline. Parents and guardians will have access to report cards on January 27 through MyCBE. Elementary school report cards communicate student achievement using teacher comments and achievement indicators on a four-point scale (4 – Excellent, 3 – Good, 2 – Basic, 1 – Not meeting). You can find more information in this document, “How is My Child Doing in school?”.

I wish all our Copperfield School Community a very Happy New Year and look forward to more amazing learning opportunities ahead.

Copperfield has heart!

Registration for 2025/26 School Year

Kindergarten registration for the 2025/2026 school year begins on January 13, 2025. Registration is done online through School Engage. For information on what documents you need, and what to expect during the registration process for Kindergarten Registration click here. As we are an at capacity school, please look at the lottery information which can be found here. To be included in the lottery, you will need to register before February 11, 2025, at noon.

All students currently in Kindergarten to Grade 5 will automatically be transferred to the next school grade. NOTE: if you have moved out of, or will be moving out of, Copperfield for the 2025 school year please let the school office know at copperfield@cbe.ab.ca and we will let you know your next steps.

The CBE has a rich variety of programs to personalize learning for students. A wonderful way to learn more about these programs is to visit the many open houses that take place throughout the year. To see the full calendar of open houses, including information on them, click here

Recorders (Grade 3, 4 & 5 only)

This year the recorder unit will begin in February for all students in Grades 3, 4 and 5.  The school has a limited number of loaner recorders however they would only be used during class time. We recommend each student order a recorder if they do not already own one. Cost of the recorder and music book will be $10.00, payable through your MyCBE account.

  1. Click on Student Fees and Service Registration
  2. Select School based optional fees
  3. Add Recorder to cart
  4. Pay for fee

All ordering for recorders must be in and paid for prior to Friday, January 31, 2025, to ensure your child has a recorder for February.

The book that comes with the fee will stay at home for practicing and the recorder is to 'live in your backpack'.

COPPER APPAREL

We are still waiting for our Apparel order to arrive. We have spoken with the vendor and communication will occur when we know more.

CASINO

We have our fundraising casino event on Feb 8 and 9 at Pure Casino.

This event helps us raise over 70k which brings the newest tech and different events to our school, and we will need the help of the community to do it again.

If you can help, please sign up using our Sign-Up sheet here. We appreciate any help.
