Update

We look forward to another great week of learning at Copperfield School. The Copperfield Read-a-Thon is coming to an end, however, students still have a few more days to count those reading minutes. We continue to welcome many amazing guest readers into our building, including a CBE Director, CBE Strategists, City Police Officer, and Fire Fighter, YYC Princesses, Calgary Wranglers, a member of the Highlanders Infantry Reserve, Calgary Library and Zoo officials to name a few.  Make sure to ask your child which guest readers have visited their classroom space.  Students are encouraged to continue reading at home to further their love of reading and the opportunity to win some amazing prizes provided by the Copperfield School Council and Fundraising Society.

March School Conferences will be held on March 21 and 22, 2024:

Thursday March 21, 2024

8am-8pm Kindergarten Conferences (No School for Kindergarten students)

4pm-8pm Grades 1-5

Friday March 22, 2024 – No School for students

8am – 12pm Kindergarten (Mrs. Ly classes only)

8am – 12pm Grades 1 – 5

School Conference meetings are a key component of our reporting process to parents/guardians. The January Report Card was an opportunity for parents/guardians to receive graded information about their child in relation to the program of studies at the end of Term 1. The March conference is an opportunity for teachers to share learning progress with families and highlight key next steps in the learning progression for the remainder of Term 2. Parents/guardians will book their 15-minute conference time on-line using their MyCBE/PowerSchool Account. The CBE conference booking site will open to families to begin booking conferences on Thursday March 14 at 6:00pm. Once the conference is booked, Parents/guardians should receive an email confirming the scheduled interview time. Families with multiple children at Copperfield, may want to leave a 15 minute space between your bookings, so that you can get from one conference to the next, to maximize your time. Please contact the school if you are having any difficulties with bookings.

Copperfield has heart!

Sincerely,

Mike Magowan

Spring Photos

Lifetouch will be in the school doing individual spring photos on March 14. All students in attendance will be having their pictures taken, retakes will not be provided.

Copperfield School Budget and Fees Engagement Survey

We know we make better decisions to support student learning when we build understanding and work together.  That is why we are asking you to share your perspectives about our School Development Plan, school budget and school fees.

The survey is open February 23 to March 20, 2024.

I encourage you to Review the School Planning Presentation prior to completing the survey.

Also, a reminder that our School Development Plan and Report to Parents and Guardians on Fees are accessible through our Copperfield school website, under the About Us – Our School tab

We encourage you to watch this short video to learn about the planning work schools do to improve and support student learning (This video is also embedded in the survey itself)
