UPDATE
It has been another busy week at Copperfield School as both students and staff are completing tasks related to our upcoming report cards.
Alberta Literacy and Numeracy Assessments - Our Kindergarten to Grade 3 students are currently completing the Alberta Education Literacy and Numeracy Screening Assessments. These assessments assist teachers to understand our students' foundational skills and identify areas for further development.
Report Cards - We understand how important it is for parents and guardians to stay informed about their child’s progress in school. Research consistently shows that students achieve greater success when parents and guardians are actively involved in their learning. Report cards are one of the key tools we use to communicate student progress.
Parents/guardians of students in Kindergarten to Grade 5 will be able to access their child’s report card online through their MyCBE/PowerSchool account starting Tuesday, February 24, 2026. For instructions on how to view the report card, please visit the "Accessing the Online Report Card" page. If you need assistance, don’t hesitate to contact the main office. Should you have any questions about the content of the report card, please reach out directly to your child’s classroom teacher.
Career Day - We are looking forward to Copperfield School’s second annual Career Day on Friday, January 23. Thank you to all the parents who have volunteered to speak about their professions. Career Day presents a unique opportunity for students to explore various career paths, gain insights into different professions, and be inspired about their future aspirations. Students are encouraged to dress up as what they would like to be when they grow up.
Lastly, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our dedicated volunteers who helped organize last week's Fun Lunch. Your support and commitment are deeply appreciated.
Copperfield has heart!

Registration for 2026/27 School Year
If you still reside in Copperfield, all students currently in Kindergarten to Grade 5 will automatically be transferred to the next school grade. NOTE: if you have moved out of, or will be moving out of, Copperfield for the 2026/2027 school year please let the school office know at copperfield@cbe.ab.ca and we will let you know your next steps.
Kindergarten registration for the 2026/2027 school year began on January 12, 2026. Registration is done online through School Engage. For information on what documents are required, and what to expect during the registration process for Kindergarten Registration click here. As we are a closed campus school, we are unable to accept out of area students.
The CBE has a rich variety of programs to personalize learning for students. A wonderful way to learn more about these programs is to visit the many open houses that take place throughout the year. To see the full calendar of open houses, including information on them, click here
RECORDERS (Grade 3, 4 & 5 only)
This year the recorder unit will begin late February for all students in Grades 3, 4 and 5. The school has a limited number of loaner recorders however they would only be used during class time. We recommend each student order a recorder if they do not already own one. Cost of the recorder and music book will be $11.00, payable through your MyCBE account.
1. Click on Student Fees and Service Registration
2. Select School based optional fees
3. Add Recorder to cart
4. Pay for fee
All ordering for recorders must be in and paid for prior to Wednesday, February 11, 2026, to ensure your child has a recorder for late February.
The book that comes with the fee will stay at home for practicing and the recorder is to 'live in your backpack'.
