Dear Copperfield Families,
We had another wonderful week of learning at Copperfield School! While the Copperfield Read-a-Thon is coming to a close, students still have a few more days to log their reading minutes. Over the past week, we’ve had the privilege of welcoming several amazing guest readers, including the CBE Chief Superintendent of Schools, a CBE Director, a CBE Strategist, a local author, YYC Princesses, staff from the Calgary Zoo, the Leighton Centre, the Humane Society and Bow Habitat Station, just to name a few. Be sure to ask your child about which guest readers have visited their classroom!
We encourage all students to continue reading at home, not only to foster their love of reading but also to increase their chances of winning exciting prizes provided by the Copperfield School Council and Fundraising Society. Thank you for your ongoing support, and let’s keep those reading minutes coming!
Over the past week, we learned that funding has been made available through the National Food Program Agreement to enhance and expand school food programs across the province. As part of this initiative, we will be purchasing a supply of non-perishable items to provide snacks or lunches for students who may need them.
We have also ordered trays of fruit for next week and hope to provide a small, nutritious snack for all students on Tuesday.
Thank you for your support! Copperfield has heart!

LOST AND FOUND
The lost and found is overflowing. Please have your student check for any lost items. Lost and Found will be donated at noon, March 20.
CLOTHING DONATIONS
We are looking for gently used pants in size 6 – 8. With spring cleaning around the corner, please send any donations of this kind to the school office.
SCHOOL CONFERENCES
We look forward to hosting School Conferences. These meetings are a key component of our reporting process to parents/guardians. The February Report Card was an opportunity for parents and guardians to receive graded information about their child in relation to the program of studies at the end of Term 1. The March conference is an opportunity for teachers to share learning progress with families and highlight key next steps in the learning progression for the remainder of Term 2. Parents and guardians will book their 15-minute conference time on-line using your MyCBE Account.
School conferences will be held on March 19 and 20, 2026. Conference Bookings will begin online through your MyCBE account starting March 12 at 6pm. Once the conference is booked, parents and guardians should receive an email confirming the scheduled interview time.
