Principal’s Message
This week, our students continued to explore the themes of Truth and Reconciliation and learned about Phyllis Webstad, the creator of Orange Shirt Day. Our Grade 4 students hosted a very thoughtful Orange Shirt Day Assembly on Tuesday, sharing their learning with our school community. Our students also created beautiful feather artwork that you’ll find on display in our Copper Gallery.
A big thank you to all the volunteers who helped with our Fun Lunch on Thursday. Your time and support help make Copperfield such a wonderful place to learn and grow!
Copperfield has heart!

ALBERTA EDUCATION LITERACY AND NUMERACY SCREENING PROGRAM 2026-27
For the 2026-27 school year, all Kindergarten to Grade 5 students are being assessed using provincially mandated screeners that measure a learner's proficiency in different literacy and numeracy skills. CBE teachers administer assessments at different points throughout the year. Over the last two weeks, our Grades 1-5 teachers have been administering the assessments and in January, Kindergarten students will participate in the assessments.
The results of the screeners do not impact a student's report card. Rather, they help teachers plan targeted interventions inside the classroom and monitor growth over time. Results will be shared with parents before the Parent Teacher Conferences on November 26 and 27.
