UPDATE

It has been another great week of learning! It was wonderful to welcome families into Copperfield School for our November Conferences this week. We are extremely proud of our Copperfield students and the learning progress that has occurred over the first 3 months. Families are an integral part of our students’ success, and we encourage you to continue to connect with your child’s teacher if you have questions. If your family was unable to attend conferences and you still wish to set up a meeting, please email your teacher to make an alternate arrangement.

We are looking forward to all the excitement and energy December generates. Planning for the Copperfield Winter Celebration is well under way, and we ask that families please read the Winter Celebration Update that has been shared and posted on our website. It contains important details that families need to know.

We have been experiencing some winter weather, and we remind students to dress appropriately. Students will be outdoors for recess and lunch recess times unless the temperature including wind chill exceeds -20C.

Copperfield has heart!

Sincerely,

Colette Pedde

Principal, Copperfield School

LUNCHROOM

We have been working with the students to maintain a positive and respectful environment during our lunch break. We have explored having some of our students eat in their classroom with a supervisor to reduce the crowd and noise level in the Copper Gallery. We kindly ask for your support in reinforcing the lunchroom rules with your child.

Please take a moment to speak with your child about the following expectations during lunch:

  • Respectful behavior: Treating others with kindness and using good manners.
  • Staying seated: Remaining at the table until they have finished eating.
  • Cleaning up: Keeping their area tidy by disposing of trash properly and helping with any mess they may have made.
  • Following staff directions: Listening to lunchroom supervisors and staff to ensure a smooth and safe lunchtime experience for everyone.

Your support in reviewing these rules at home will help us create a calm, respectful, and enjoyable lunchtime for all students. Please CLICK HERE for the complete list of student expectations during lunchtime.

Thank you for your continued partnership!

FEES AND WAIVERS

System fees have been posted to your MyCBE account including instructional fees (Kindergarten to Grade 5) and lunchroom for those who stay at lunch time. These fees can be paid online through your MyCBE account or at the office, with an appointment. If you cannot afford fees, you may be eligible to have them waived. The CBE aligns with federal and provincial guidelines when assessing waiver applications. For more information about fees and waivers, information can be found here.
