Update
We hope all members of our Copperfield community had a restful and wonderful Holiday break. It was great to welcome students and staff back this week as we begin to conclude term one here at Copperfield. Our goal this week has been to review routines and to continue to set high expectations for all members of our learning spaces. During my classroom visits, I listened to many students discussing and setting learning goals for the remainder of the year. Descriptive words that I heard students select to focus on included: resilience, perseverance, excellence, kindness, and joy. These words exhibit the genuine empathy and character our students continuously strive to demonstrate daily at Copperfield and are an example for us all as we embark on a new year. I wish all members of Copperfield a Happy New Year and look forward to the amazing learning opportunities to come.
Copperfield has heart!
Sincerely,
Mike Magowan

If your student will be away or late for any reason, please let the office know. This can be done in a few ways 24hrs a day. Either call the school attendance line at 403-817-3512 ext 1 or email copperfield@cbe.ab.ca.
Registration for 2024/2025 School Year
- Kindergarten registration for the 2024/2025 school year begins on January 15, 2024. Registration is done online through School Engage. For information on what documents you need, and what to expect during the registration process for Kindergarten Registration click here. As we are an at capacity school, please look at the lottery information which can be found here
- All students currently in Kindergarten to Grade 5 will automatically be transferred to the next school grade. NOTE: if you have moved out of, or will be moving out of, Copperfield for the 2024 school year please let the school office know at copperfield@cbe.ab.ca and we will let you know your next steps.
- The CBE has a rich variety of programs to personalize learning for students. A great way to learn more about these programs is to visit the many open houses that take place throughout the year. To see the full calendar of open houses, including information on them, click here
Recorders (Grade 3, 4 & 5 only)
This year the recorder unit will begin in February for all students in Grades 3, 4 and 5. The school has a limited number of loaner recorders however they would only be used during class time. We recommend each student order a recorder if they do not already own one. Cost of the recorder and music book will be $10.00, payable through your MyCBE account.
1. Click on Student Fees and Service Registration
2. Select School based optional fees
3. Add Recorder to cart
4. Pay for fee
All ordering for recorders must be in and paid for prior to Friday, January 19, 2024, to ensure your child has a recorder for February.
The book that comes with the fee will stay at home for practicing and the recorder is to 'live in your backpack'.

HEALTHY HUNGER-
Students have the option to order a treat snack and lunch once per month. The next Fun Lunch is McDonalds on February 7, and the next Snack Day is Cobs on January 24. Orders must be placed 6 days in advance and can be placed by creating an account or signing into your existing Healthy Hunger account and adding your student. Parent volunteers are what make these events so successful, and we would love to have anyone that is interested in volunteering and has their volunteer paperwork and CBE clearance come join us.
