 Update

We look forward to another great week of learning at Copperfield School. Thank you to the many volunteers that supported our fun lunch last week and the remaining field trips that students have been lucky enough to attend.

Copperfield School will be participating in an Activity Day on June 27, and we need numerous volunteers to support the multiple stations that we have planned. Please complete the Activity Volunteer form that was shared with families and return it to your child’s teacher by Friday June 14. Teachers will contact volunteers by June 21 to share details about the day.

Indigenous History Month (June) activities and National Indigenous Peoples Day are opportunities to complement the ongoing work that lives in our learning spaces throughout the year through the Indigenous Holistic Education Lifelong Learning Framework. National Indigenous Peoples Day is on Friday, June 21! Copperfield School will renew our Truth and Reconciliation Commitment to Action and culminate the learning that has occurred with Elder Shirley Hill on this day. The residency and discussions will continue to build student, staff and community capacity for intercultural understanding, empathy, and mutual respect.

We have many lost and found items still unclaimed, please remind your child to visit the lost and found to identify any missing items. All lost and found items left unclaimed on June 27, 2024 will be donated. With the hot weather, students are reminded to bring a hat for outdoor learning times and a refillable water bottle.

Copperfield has heart!

Sincerely,

Mike Magowan

Moving

Yearbook

If you missed ordering a yearbook, please call the school 403-817-3512 or email at copperfield@cbe.ab.ca so that we can add the yearbook to your MyCBE account. Yearbooks will be delivered the last week of September.

Calgary’s Child Magazine

Calgary's Child is excited to share the link to their final issue for the 23/24 school year - the Summer Edition. This issue is packed with 10 weeks of summer fun, featuring numerous activities for sunny days!

They are also really proud of their Education & Program Planner insert. Articles cover a variety of topics including the importance of risky play for child development and how to safely incorporate it, strategies for helping children connect with peers at school, and tips for organizing a stress-free transition into fall. The issue also features a comprehensive Fall Education & Program Planner, and articles provide guidance on preventing summer learning loss and recognizing vision problems.
