School Resumes from Spring Break

Dear Copperfield Families,

We had another wonderful week of learning at Copperfield School! While the Copperfield Read-a-Thon is coming to a close, students still have a few more days to log their reading minutes. Over the past week, we’ve had the privilege of welcoming several amazing guest readers, including the CBE Chief Superintendent of Schools, a CBE Director, a CBE Strategist, two City Police Officers, YYC Princesses, members of the Calgary Wranglers, a member of the Highlanders Infantry Reserve, a mental health coordinator, as well as officials from the Calgary Zoo, just to name a few. Be sure to ask your child about which guest readers have visited their classroom!

We encourage all students to continue reading at home, not only to foster their love of reading but also to increase their chances of winning exciting prizes provided by the Copperfield School Council and Fundraising Society.

Thank you for your ongoing support, and let’s keep those reading minutes coming!

March School Conferences

Due to the current labour action, our parent/teacher conferences will be online only. Conferences will be held on March 20 and 21, 2025.

Thursday March 20, 2025

8am - 8pm Kindergarten Conferences (No School for Kindergarten students)

4pm - 8pm Grades 1-5

Friday March 21, 2025 – No School for students

8am – 12pm Kindergarten (Mrs. Ly’s classes only)

8am – 12pm Grades 1 – 5

School Conference meetings are a key component of our reporting process to parents/guardians. The January Report Card was an opportunity for parents and guardians to receive graded information about their child in relation to the program of studies at the end of Term 1. The March conference is an opportunity for teachers to share learning progress with families and highlight key next steps in the learning progression for the remainder of Term 2. Parents and guardians will book their 15-minute conference time on-line using their MyCBE/PowerSchool Account.

The CBE conference booking site opened to families to book conferences on Thursday, March 13 at 6:00pm. Once the conference is booked, parents and guardians should receive an email confirming the scheduled interview time. Please contact the school if you are having any difficulties with bookings.
