Update

We look forward to another great week of learning at Copperfield School. We hope that everyone was able to enjoy the long weekend with family, and you were able to spend some time outdoors in the spring weather. We all know the weather changes quickly in Calgary, and Copperfield students are reminded to dress in layers as they are outside for pond studies, community walks, learning breaks and lunch recess. This is an important reminder, as we have another busy couple of weeks with a few classes going on field trips and hopefully we will be able to enjoy our recess and lunch breaks outdoors.

As we prepare for the 2024-2025 school year, it is important to have accurate enrolment numbers so we can create the required number of classes. If you know you are moving out of the Copperfield School boundary, we would appreciate if you call or email the school to inform us that your child(ren) will not be attending next year. This helps us to be prepared for the upcoming year.

It is important that you advise the school if your child is going to be absent or arriving late. Remember to report all absences to the Attendance Line at 403-817-3512 ext. 1 or Email to copperfield@cbe.ab.ca. Please include the date, your child’s name, homeroom and the reason for the absence or late arrival.

Registration for 2024/2025 School Year

• Registrations are ongoing for the 2024/2025 school year.
• Your child will automatically be registered for the next grade level, providing they are still in the Copperfield community.
• If you are moving out of the Copperfield area, please email us at copperfield@cbe.ab.ca  and we will let you know your next step.

Yearbook

Order your yearbook for the 2023/2024 school year now! Orders can be place on your MyCBE account by selecting optional fee. Please check your history to see if you have already purchased one. Order Deadline June 3. Yearbooks will be delivered in September. To order a yearbook follow these steps:

• Log into your MyCBE account
• Select Fees, Waivers and Service Registrations
• Click on optional fees
• Add yearbook to cart

School Council

The next School Council meeting is TONIGHT at 6:30pm. We would love for you to join. Meetings are full of useful information about the school, upcoming events, budget, and spending. Meetings will be in person, at the school, and all are welcome to attend. Meeting Agenda can be found here. Babysitting will not be provided.

Copperfield School Council presents TELUS Wise. Come join us on June 6, 2024, at 6pm at Copperfield School Gym where we will be invited to engage in how to keep our kids safe in our digital world. The workshop is designed for adults and parents and focuses on topics including screen time, gaming, cyberbullying and more. 

Fundraising Association

The next Fundraising meeting will take place immediately following the School Council meeting TONIGHT. Meetings will be in person at the school and babysitting will not be provided.

There are many ways you can contribute to the school's fundraising through everyday initiatives. Check out the list of ongoing initiatives here:

HEALTHY HUNGER

Students have the option to order a treat snack and lunch once per month. The next Fun Lunch is McDonalds on June 5, and the next Fun Snack will be cookies on June 19. Orders must be placed 6 days in advance and can be placed by creating an account or signing into your existing Healthy Hunger account and adding your student. Parent volunteers are what make these events so successful, and we would love to have anyone that is interested in volunteering and has their volunteer paperwork and CBE clearance come join us. SKIP THE DEPOT- You can donate the proceeds from your empty bottles and cans to our school - NO CONTACT REQUIRED!
