Update

We look forward to another great week of learning at Copperfield School. Today, we demonstrated support and awareness by putting our Hats on! For Mental Health. This year, the Canadian Mental Health Association is calling all Canadians to be Kind! We all have the capacity to be compassionate, and we know that doing so can make an enormous difference. This year’s Mental Health Week is centered on the healing power of compassion, and the emphasis that kindness and compassion connects us all. At Copperfield we have been discussing and practicing empathy and compassion by regulating our emotions and connecting with others. This means saying hello to someone, smiling and helping a classmate when needed. It means including everyone in games outside, being a good sport and having fun. It means being respectful and kind always. Thank you, Copperfield school, for showing your support for mental health, but hats are not enough. Practice empathy and compassion, and most importantly be kind! Treat everyone the way you would want to be treated.

This week is Teacher Appreciation Week, and it provides the opportunity to recognize the important role that education and the dedicated staff of Copperfield play in building a strong educational community. Copperfield school is uplifted by an extensive community of people that support each other in learning and working toward an inspired future. We are proud of our school, our students, our staff and our community. On behalf of all Copperfield staff, I would like to thank our amazing school council and school community for the staff appreciation treats shared throughout this week. I know staff feel very supported and truly appreciated. Thank you for the remarkable role you play in supporting education and Copperfield School.

Copperfield has heart!

Sincerely,

Mike Magowan
