Dear Copperfield Families,
It has been another wonderful week of learning at Copperfield School! Our Kindergarten program hosted their Sports Activity Day the last two Fridays. A big thank you to the School Council for providing freezies to close off the fun. We appreciate all of the great volunteers who helped make it such a great day.
Our Grade 1–5 Sports/Activity Day will be Monday, June 22.
As we come to the end of this school year, we also take a moment to celebrate and wish a heartfelt farewell to our incredible secretary, Mrs. Bev Willmott as she begins her well-deserved retirement. As a founding member of our school, she played an essential role in opening our doors and has been a steady, caring presence ever since. From keeping our school organized and managing the countless details behind the scenes, to overseeing bookkeeping and creating class lists, her dedication and expertise have supported every aspect of our daily operations. More than that, she has been a warm and welcoming face for students, staff, and families alike. Her impact on our school community is immeasurable, and she will be deeply missed. We wish her all the very best in this next chapter—may it be filled with joy, relaxation, and new adventures!
We also wish a fond farewell to a few more cherished staff members. We wish all the best to: Mrs. Barr, Ms. Molsberry, Mrs. Moravec, Mrs. Hornaday, Ms. Shaibu and Mrs. Bassan. We wish you all the best on your next adventures!
We also wish a warm welcome to our new staff who will be joining our school for the 2026 – 2027 school year. Welcome to Mrs. Miller, Mrs. Smart, Ms. Lewis-Morrison, Ms. Xia and Mrs. Kearns. We look forward to these wonderful new additions to our staff!

SPORTS/ACTIVITY DAY – Tuesday, June 23 - * Note date change due to high chance of rain on Monday
Monday is Sports/Activity Day! The theme will be Beach Day. Come dressed in your best beach outfits. We also ask that students come prepared with: a hat, a refillable water bottle, sunscreen, and appropriate footwear
MEDICATION
If your child has medication in the office, please stop by and pick it up. We cannot send medication home in children's backpacks without written consent. All unclaimed medications will be disposed of on Tuesday, June 30.
BACK TO SCHOOL – August 31, 2026
Our website has been updated with important back to school information found here.
LEAVING EARLY FOR THE SUMMER
Is your family leaving the school early for summer vacation before June 26, or are you coming back after the first day of school, August 31? If so, please complete an extended absence form and email to the school at copperfield@cbe.ab.ca. This ensures all students leave the school with their indoor shoes and any school work that has accumulated over the year. Anything not claimed by June 26 will be recycled.
LOST AND FOUND
The lost and found is again overflowing! Ask your student to check to see if they have anything in it! We do try to return items that have names on them, however it is always a good idea to have your child look. All lost and found left unclaimed will be donated noon June 29.
COPPERFIELD INTENTION FORMS 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR
We are currently planning for the 2026–2027 school year. To support accurate staffing and organization, we are gathering enrollment information from all families. Please complete this short form to let us know whether your child(ren) will be returning to Copperfield School. If you have not already completed, please complete the survey for each child. Intention Form – Fill out form
All current Kindergarten to Grade 4 students registered at Copperfield and have not moved out of the area are registered here for the next school year.
FEES AND WAIVERS
As a reminder, all fees have been posted to your student’s MyCBE account. If you could please check to make sure all outstanding fees have been paid.
No child is ever denied access to an education in The Calgary Board of Education (CBE) because of an inability to pay. If you cannot afford the fees, there are several ways to qualify for a central fee waiver.
Waiver applications for the current school year are found online through your MyCBE account and are available from the start of the school year until June 30.
Calgary's Child Magazine
Summer may not have officially arrived just yet, but the Summer 2026 edition of Calgary’s Child Magazine is ready and it’s bursting with ideas to help families make the most of the season ahead!
