 Principal’s Message

It was another wonderful week of learning here at Copperfield School! This week, our students explored the themes of Truth and Reconciliation and learned about Phyllis Webstad, the creator of Orange Shirt Day, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.

On Friday, during our assembly, students discovered the importance of connecting with the natural world around us. To further support our learning about Indigenous ways of knowing and being, Mr. Patry read Indigenous storybooks to each grade group, enriching our understanding and respect for Indigenous cultures.

We would also like to extend a huge thank you to our incredible School Council for their ongoing support! At our first School Council meeting last Wednesday, they approved bringing in the Trickster Theatre artist-in-residence for our students from May 11 to 22. We are so grateful for this exciting opportunity and for the dedication of our Copperfield School community. Copperfield truly has heart!

Kind Regards,

Colette Pedde

Principal, Copperfield School

COPPERFIELD SCHOOL COUNCIL

Have you always wanted to join school council? Or have you simply just wondered how you can learn about what’s going on in the school and what your kids are actually doing during the day? Come join the Copperfield School Parent Council and Fundraising Association meetings!

We are a great group of parents that meet once a month to discuss the ways in which we can help make our school a wonderful place to grow, learn and belong!  When you are a part of school council and fundraising, you have the chance to meet with our principal and assistant principal as well as various staff members!  Together, we all plan activities, learn about upcoming initiatives, and receive detailed information about how our kids are learning while they spend the day at school.

Our next meeting is on October 22 at 6:30pm and it just happens to be our AGM. Please feel free to come and join us in person. If you cannot make it in person, please use the following link to join us virtually.
