Fall Break - No School for students

Hello Copperfield Families,

As the beautiful colours of autumn surround us and the crisp fall air settles in, we hope you and your families are enjoying this wonderful time of year! It has been another exciting week of learning and growing at Copperfield School, and we are looking forward to the many opportunities the season brings.

One of our goals this year is to continue building leadership skills among our Grade 5 students by providing meaningful opportunities for them to contribute to our school community. From morning announcements and assembly set-up to serving as School Safety Patrols, our Grade 5 leaders are taking on important responsibilities and demonstrating what it means to be positive role models.

We are excited to share that the Alberta Motor Association (AMA) has completed training with our interested Grade 5 students and provided all the necessary equipment for our School Safety Patrol Program, which will officially begin on Tuesday, October 20!

Beginning Tuesday morning, three to four Grade 5 patrols will be stationed at the crosswalk closest to our playground from 7:47 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.

As our students develop their confidence and skills in this important role, we kindly ask for your patience and support. Our patrols are learning how to identify safe gaps in traffic, guide pedestrians across the street, and safely open and close the crosswalk. Ms. Heggie will be supervising and supporting our students throughout their patrol shifts to ensure they feel confident and successful in their new responsibilities.

We extend a heartfelt THANK YOU in advance to our Copperfield families and community for your patience, encouragement, and support of our Grade 5 Safety Patrols.

Copperfield has heart!
