Update

We look forward to another great week of learning at Copperfield School. Teaching students to act with kindness and empathy is part of the important work we do each and every day at Copperfield School. Our School Development Plan focuses on Well-Being, and our staff continue to participate in professional learning that centres on Social Emotional Learning, resiliency and regulation strategies. All grade teams will be participating in developing Kindness Activities throughout the Month of February including: Winter Walk Activities, Kindness Cards for the community, environmental care, classroom challenges to inspire action towards being kind, Pink Shirt Day, and Buddy activities. Look to your classroom blogs to learn more about this important work.

Pink Shirt Day is February 28, 2024. Schools from across Canada will wear pink to support bullying prevention awareness, education and programs. Copperfield’s Gr 3 Molsberry/Williams and Gr 4 Dorish’s students will lead a school assembly honouring Pink Shirt Day on February 28.  Building healthy relationships is one of the best ways to prevent bullying and create safe environments. The need to “Lift Each Other Up” and have greater acceptance, respect, and inclusion for everyone is so important. We encourage all students to wear pink on this day to show their support.  For more information please visit the Pink Shirt Day website.

Copperfield has heart!

Sincerely,

Mike Magowan

Registration 2024/2025

If you have a child who will turn 5 by December 31, 2024, Kindergarten Registration for the 2024/2025 school year has begun. As we are an at-capacity school, registrations must be completed on School Engage by February 13 at NOON to be included in the lottery. Registrations completed after that point will be automatically added to our callback list.

Current Kindergarten to Grade 5 students will automatically be enrolled in the next grade level. If your student has moved out of area, we are not able to accommodate your child for the next school year, please contact the school at copperfield@cbe.ab.ca and we will assist you in next steps.
