Update
Copperfield school staff are very excited to welcome students back this week from the Fall break. The next few weeks are busy as we plan for school conferences and Winter Celebrations. We also have student field trips, and clubs occurring during the lunch hour throughout this month as well.
November School Conference will take place Thursday, November 23 and Friday, November 24. Please see below for booking instructions and times. These meetings are an important component of our reporting process to parents/guardians. The September conference was designed as an opportunity for parents/guardians to highlight information about their child and to meet their child’s teacher. The November conference is an opportunity for teachers to share learning progress with families. Parents/guardians will book their 15-minute conference time on-line using their MyCBE/PowerSchool Account, and the conference site will open to families to begin booking conferences on Thursday November 16 at 6:00pm (please see below for further instructions). Once the conference is booked, parents/guardians should receive an email within 24 hours confirming the scheduled interview time.
We would like to provide an update regarding the Winter Celebration as Copperfield begins to prepare for the December event. Our students in grades 1-5 will perform on either December 13 or 14, and our kindergarten students will perform on December 20, 2023. The winter celebration is an opportunity for our community to gather and most importantly for students to showcase their learning. We understand that tickets and limited seating is not ideal, therefore, we are trying a new format this year. We have scheduled the concert to occur over two nights, with two performances on each evening. Each evening will host two concerts; Concert A/C from 6:00pm – 6:30pm and Concert B/D from 7:15pm – 7:45pm. Concert A (Wed) & C (Thurs) will consist of Grades 1-3 classes and Concert B (Wed) & D (Thurs) will showcase Grades 4-5 classrooms. This will allow for a smaller number of students performing at a time and allow for greater availability of seats for families. We ask that families watch for and read carefully the Winter Celebration Update that will be shared on Friday November 17. The update contains further details and important information about concert dates, times, and who will be performing on which date.
Copperfield has heart!
Sincerely,
Mike Magowan

ONGOING FUNDRAISERS!
There are many ways you can contribute to the school's fundraising through everyday initiatives. Check out the list of ongoing initiatives here:
HEALTHY HUNGER- Students have the option to order a treat snack and lunch once per month. The next Fun Lunch is Edo on December 6, followed by Opa on January 10. There will be no snack day in December. Orders must be placed 6 days in advance and can be placed by creating an account or signing into your existing Healthy Hunger account and adding your student. Parent volunteers are what make these events so successful, and we would love to have anyone that is interested in volunteering and has their volunteer paperwork and CBE clearance come join us. Volunteer sign up for these events can be done here.
SKIP THE DEPOT- You can donate the proceeds from your empty bottles and cans to our school - NO CONTACT REQUIRED! Simply click the link below to sign up for pickups, set your bottles out the morning of pickup and away they go! All proceeds are given back to the school. COBS - like fresh baked goods?! When shopping at COBS, let them know you are with Copperfield School, and they will donate a portion of your purchase to the school!
