Update

We look forward to another great week of learning at Copperfield School. Thank you to our grade 2 students and staff for their commitment to learning, teaching and guidance throughout last week as Copperfield prepared for the Terry Fox Run.  Students shared announcements all week, hosted an assembly that brought our community together, encouraged all of us to set goals and to persevere when things get hard, and guided us through our run around Wildflower Pond. As a school community, we ran to support the Marathon of Hope by raising awareness and donations to support cancer research. Our Copperfield school community was incredibly generous and collectively we raised just over $2400.00 for the Terry Fox Foundation. This means that seven staff members will honour their agreement and get pied in the face at our final Terry Fox assembly on Friday October 13 at 10:45am.

Thank you to the many volunteers that have supported all the student activities thus far. We have seen volunteers supporting field trips; volunteers were instrumental in ensuring the safety of everyone throughout the Terry Fox Run and the Fun Lunch was a hit with all students who participated because of our well-organized volunteers. Thank you for your incredible dedication and time.

With the incredible weather we have been having it is hard to believe it is Fall. However, we know that Fall weather is approaching, and students need to be prepared for changing weather. Please ensure your child is dressed in layers to support the outdoor learning and recess opportunities we offer each day.  This is a great time to remind all students to swing by the lost and found to find those items they left outdoors during a warm lunch break.

Copperfield has heart!

Sincerely,

Mike Magowan

Principal, Copperfield School
